This project focuses on the removal of trees and shrubbery situated within the 34:1 approach slope boundary at both ends of Runway 3-21, encompassing an approximate disturbance area of 38 acres. The project scope entails clearing and grubbing to include; removal of trees, stumps, and shrubs, as well as erosion and sediment control and minimal grading operations, followed by revegetation (seeding and mulching) of areas that do not fall under jurisdiction of Waters of the United States (i.e., areas not classified as jurisdictional wetlands or streams). To preserve the integrity of Waters of the United States, tree stumps will remain in areas falling under their jurisdiction. Contractor shall meet the following bidding requirements: Contractors must be listed on the NCDOT Prequalified list as a bidder or Prime to bid on this project. Contractors, including subcontractors, must have a NC Contracting License pertaining to their discipline of work. Contractors, including subcontractors, must be prequalified by the NCDOT to perform the work pertaining to their specific scope of work in the contract. The prime contractor for the project must be prequalified by the NCDOT as a prime. Work codes for this project include, but are not limited to: 000200 CLEARING AND GRUBBING, 000801 CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING, 001605 TEMPORARY SILT FENCE, 001660 SEEDING AND MULCHING. Work code 00099 OTHER will not be accepted unless otherwise approved by the NCDOT or NCDOA that the work associated with that work code description for the contractor matches the work for the project. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to 5% of the total amount bid is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. Written questions from prospective bidders will be accepted until 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 6, 2025. After that, no questions will be answered.
