Renovation of a mixed-use development in Provo, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center; and swimming pool.
Provo City is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids to resurface the Outdoor Activity Pool at the Provo Recreation Center. The current pool surface is plaster but will consider other surfaces. Scope of Work included: Surface Removal: Removal and disposal of the existing plaster surface, including all necessary prep work and repairs to the pool shell as required. Surface Application: Installation of a new pool surface. Bidders are required to measure surface area. Bidders may propose alternative surface types and provide details on the benefits, maintenance requirements, and longevity of the proposed materials. Code requires blue or white surfaces. Repairs & Patchwork: Any necessary structural repairs to the pool shell, including but not limited to cracks, holes, or structural damage. The contractor must inspect the entire pool shell and ensure proper repair and preparation before resurfacing. Waterproofing & Sealing: Application of appropriate waterproofing and sealing agents to ensure the longevity and integrity of the new surface. Pool Equipment & Fixtures: Removal and reinstallation of pool equipment and fixtures (ladders, handrails, drains, skimmers, etc.) as needed to facilitate the resurfacing wo Project Timeline: The pool must be fully operational and open to the public by mid-May 2025; therefore, all work must be completed prior to this date.
