Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Chalmette, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; pre-engineered storage facility; and for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility.
St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office New Warehouse and Office All bids shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount of five percent (5.0%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates. The form of this security shall be as stated in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written as described in the Instructions to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. The Prime contractor must certify that he and his subcontractors to be used for the project hold an active Louisiana license by displaying his license number and Major Classification of Building Construction on the bid envelope. In the case of an electronic bid proposal, a contractor may submit an authentic digital signature on the electronic bid proposal accompanied by the contractors license number to meet the requirements of this Paragraph. If the bid does not display the contractor's license number the bid shall be automatically rejected, the bid shall be returned to the bidder marked Rejected, and shall not be read aloud. Questions regarding the bid documents and budget shall be made in writing to the designer of record no later than January 24, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. Local Time to bids@pi-aec.com and haa@hardyarchitect.com. All communication submitted by bidders must copy John Vickers, SBSO Director of Administration email address, jvickers@sbso.org whether in electronic or paper format. The Owner reserves the right to reject or cancel any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212(6)(1), the provisions and requirements of this Section and those stated in the bidding documents shall not be waived by any entity. The St. Bernard Sheriff's Office is required to ensure that all contractors meet all eligibility requirements. The following steps shall be taken to verify and document contractor eligibility for all services procured. Prime Contractor Clearance Any person with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office at 504-271-2504 no later than seven (7) days prior to the bid opening.
