Renovation of Old Dollar General Building For Renovation of Old Dollar General Building 21455 AL Highway 79, Skyline, AL 35768 Introduction: The Town of Skyline is requesting bids for the renovation of the old Dollar General building located at 21455 AL Highway 79, Skyline, AL 35768. This project aims to convert the existing building from a single space into two separate spaces with individual entrances. Each space should be capable of operating independently with its own power, water, and sewer connections . Scope of Work: The selected contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Demolition & Site Preparation: o Remove any interior structures or features that obstruct the desired layout. o Ensure the building is cleared and ready for division into two spaces. 2. Building Division: o Construct a dividing fire wall down the center of the building, ensuring each space is fully separated. o Install two separate front entrance doors for each space, ensuring proper access and security. 3. Utilities: o Modify existing power, water, and sewer connections to allow each space to function independently. (water line needs to be run down the side of the building in the grass to the back of the building and sewer needs to be added to the existing tank) o Ensure proper installation and compliance with all relevant codes for each utility connection. 4. Finishing: o Complete necessary finishing work for walls, floors, and ceilings to ensure both spaces are ready for occupancy. o Install necessary fixtures for each unit, ensuring functionality and compliance with building codes. 5. Permits & Inspections: o The contractor is responsible for securing all necessary permits and inspections required for the renovation. The Town of Skyline reserves the right to reject any or all bids. 2. Contractor's Responsibility: The selected contractor must comply with all local, state, and federal regulations and laws, including building codes, safety standards, and insurance requirements. 3. Project Timeline: The contractor must begin work upon selection and completion must be within the timeframe agreed upon in the bid.
