New construction of a fire / police facility in Sarasota, Florida. Working plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility.
As of June 9, 2025, an architect and construction manager have been selected. This project is in the pre-construction/negotiated status and conceptual planning/schematic design is in progress. It is anticipated sub-bidding will commence May 2026, with construction starting in summer 2026 and ending late 2026/or early 2027. This project is included in the Sarasota County Fiscal Year 2025-2029 CIP. This project includes the potential rezone, clearing and construction of a fire station on county owned property in the Lakewood Ranch area. Due diligence studies and design services will be required to support site development, purchase/construction of a facility, apparatus storage, and small storage buildings at the site. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
