Reference Number 0000372793 The Grand County Learning By Doing Cooperative Effort (referred to as LBD throughout) is a non-profit made up of partner organizations from both sides of the continental divide in Colorado whose overarching goal is to maintain and, when reasonably possible, restore or enhance the aquatic environment in Grand County. One of the charges of LBD is monitoring and improving the health of the Fraser River. The Kaibab Park Stream Improvement Project is key to advancing our mission. LBD is accepting sealed bids for construction of the Kaibab Park Stream Improvement Project. The Kaibab Park Stream Improvement Project is located along the Fraser River in the Town of Granby (see Figure 1) and is contained within the property boundaries of land owned by the Town of Granby. The main goal of the project is to improve aquatic habitat along the Fraser River through Kaibab Park in the Town of Granby in Grand County, Colorado. LBD has retained a stream restoration design engineer, Stillwater Sciences (Designer and Project Manager), which has developed detailed engineering drawings and will provide construction observation on behalf of LBD during project construction. Project restoration activities include installing large wood structures in the channel, localized grading, and riffle de-armoring. Restoration treatments will increase aquatic habitat diversity, enhance point bars, improve pool habitat, and concentrate low flow over a reduced channel, including by narrowing the channel to increase riffle flushing for improved macroinvertebrate habitat and trout spawning.
