Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Working plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

** As of 2/18/2025 we are undecided whether we want to move forward with this project for now.** Rolling Meadows Park District Roof Rehabilitation Program The Rolling Meadows Park District is accepting bids for a Roof Rehabilitation Program at the Rolling Meadows Park District Building located at 3000 Central Road, Rolling Meadows, IL The in place roof system consists of a single-ply EPDM membrane and flashings system over EPS insulation board supported by a gypsum deck. Roof area D is supported by a metal deck. The building is a multi-story mixed use building consisting of seven (7) roof areas Penthouse, and Entry Shed) making up the west portion of the building which are connected via a breezeway ( to the three (3) roof areas) that make up the east portion of the building. All roof areas are targeted for the Roof Rehabilitation Program. The in-place roofing system consists of a fully adhered, non-reinforced EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) roofing membrane and flashings assembly. The roofing assembly was installed over rigid insulation board on a structural gypsum deck at majority of the roof areas with roof area having a metal deck. The Owner is requesting a Base Bid A Program for removal of the existing roofing assembly down to the structural decking followed by the installation of new mechanically fastened rigid insulation and the installation of a 2-Ply BUR, Granular Surfaced Modified Cap roofing system. Alternate bids are also being requested for the installation of a 60 mil fully adhered TPO roofing and flashing system SCOPE OF WORK: Base Bid: Roof Area A through L: [Roof Replacement (20-year NDL warranty) Mechanically Fastened Base Sheet / Adhered Insulation and Cover Board / 2-Ply BUR, Granular Surfaced Modified Cap / Sheet Metal Flashings and Related Metal Work] All existing pre-construction conditions and property deficiencies must be documented and scope of work field verified by the Contractor prior to any work started. Any discrepancies shall be documented and reported to the Architect immediately. Work shall consist of the complete removal and disposal of the existing roofing assembly, flashings, sheet metal coping caps, and accessories down to the deck. The entire roof area shall be swept clean of ALL debris and inspected for areas of damaged/deterioration. All areas of damaged/deteriorated decking shall be repaired under Unit Price provisions. Existing Roof Top Units , duct work, and related electrical, conduit, piping, and gas to remain in place and be protected. Existing flashing at curbs to be trimmed with excess material remain as for new roofing assembly to be installed behind. Install new wood blocking as required at all curbs, penetrations and perimeter edges to accommodate new insulation and flashings height requirements. Install new control joints as shown on roof areas. Install new mechanically fastened base sheet over the existing gypsum deck followed by two ply vapor barrier set in uniform of hot asphalt providing 100% coverage of the deck at all roof areas excluding Roof Area The Rolling Meadows Park District will accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid, and may reject a bid or bids where it determines such rejection to be in the best interest of the Park District. The rejection of a bid or bids shall not result in accrual of any rights, claims or cause of action by the Bidder against the Rolling Meadows Park District. The Park District reserves the right to waive technicalities and irregularities. A 10% Bid Bond is required. ( ) A Bid Bond is not required. ( X ) Include the cost of a Performance Bond in your Bid. ( ) Cost for a Performance Bond shall be shown as a Unit Price extra. The Illinois Prevailing Wage Act applies to this project along with the Davis Bacon Act. Contractors must pay and require all subcontractors to pay the prevailing rate of wages to all related laborers, workers, and mechanics involved in this project. As established by the Illinois Department of Labor for each craft or type of work needed to execute the contract in accordance with 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. Any increases in cost to the contractor due to changes in the prevailing rate of wage during the terms of any contract shall be at the expense of the contractor and not the Park District. The Contractor shall be solely responsible to maintain accurate records as required by the prevailing wage statute . The Contractor shall be solely liable for paying the difference between prevailing wages and any wages actually received by the laborers, workmen and or mechanics engaged in the Work and in every way defend and indemnify the Park District against any claims arising under or related to the payment of wages in accordance with the Prevailing Wage Act. The Bid Documents may be downloaded at: www:rmparks.org or picked up at the Rolling Meadows Park District Administrative Offices located at 3000 Central Road, Rolling Meadows, Illinois 60008, weekdays from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. The Rolling Meadows Park District encourages small and minority businesses and business firms to submit bids on all projects they are qualified for. The Park District also encourages all successful contract bidders to utilize small and minority businesses and businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services and construction.
