The Work of this Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The project includes the roof replacements of two (2) housing unit buildings at the Nebraska Department of Corrections - Omaha Correctional Center. The buildings each have four separate flat roof areas. The area of roof replacements totals approx. 8,300 S.F. on each housing unit building (plan area). Obtains containing a full set of Bid Documents in PDF format are available upon receipt of a non-refundable card payment in the amount of $30.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc. Any addenda may also be printed on request for an additional cost depending on number of pages and sizes. *An OBE Non-Cash Builder's Card will NOT be accepted in lieu of purchasing a set. Only complete sets of Bid Documents may be obtained - no partial set orders will be issued. If shipping of Bid Documents is required, there is a non-refundable fee in the amount of $35.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc. Printed bid documents do not need to be returned, as there is no deposit to be refunded. You may return bid documents if you wish, and we can recycle them for free. All listed fees are before applicable taxes. Each proposal must be accompanied by bid security, (bid bond or a certified check), in the sum of five (5%) percent of the proposal, as a guarantee of good faith, drawn on a solvent bank and made payable to the order of the Department of Correctional Services, State of Nebraska, which will be retained by and may be forfeited to the Department of Correctional Services, State of Nebraska, as liquidated damage if such proposal is accepted, the Contract awarded, and the bidder or bidders fail to enter into a contract in form prescribed, with a satisfactory surety bond, within ten (10) days after such award is made. The bid deposit of all except the three (3) lowest bidders may be returned within three (3) days after the opening of bids. The bid deposit of the three lowest bidders may be returned within 48 hours after the executed contract and required bonds have been finally approved by the Owner. Based on application for payment submitted to the Owner by the Contractor, the Owner shall make progress payments on account of the Contract sum to the Contractor as specified in the General Conditions. The Owner shall make final payment 45 days after completion of the work, provided the contract be then fully performed, subject to the provisions of the General Conditions. The Contractor shall acquaint himself of all security measures required while working on the grounds at Omaha Corrections Center; Omaha, Nebraska 68110. Questions regarding security requirements will be answered during the Pre-Bid Conference and the Pre-Construction Conference The Contractor shall coordinate all work with Jerod Beach, 402-479-5745 (Engineering Division), Doug Laaker, 402-522-7012 (Facility Maintenance Manager). The area of roof replacements totals approx. 8,300 S.F. on each housing unit building (plan area) Project will be constructed under a single contract with a Qualified Roofing Contractor. Roofing Contractor is responsible for including coordination of, and shall include costs associated with all work of other trades required for completion of work under this contract, including, Electrical, and Site Restoration resulting from work of this Contract. General: Cooperate fully with separate contractors so work may be carried out smoothly, without interfering with or delaying work under this Contract or other contracts. Coordinate the Work of this Contract with work performed under separate contracts. Security camera j-boxes and conduit currently attached to the inside of roof parapet walls or caps will be extended and relocated to new conduit locations on the roof surface UNDER WORK OF THIS CONTRACT. Owner's separate contractor/vendor will perform all cabling and re- connection work in order to maintain existing system warranties. Work shall be scheduled so that security system down time is minimized. Decisions by the Consultant with regard to plans and specifications, work and materials, and contract questions, shall be made after consultation with the Owner.
