Martial Cottle Park Perimeter Trail Extension Installation of a new 0.5-mile long 12-foot wide asphalt paved Class A trail segment around the southeast corner of the park and a new 0.5-mile long 12-foot wide natural surface rocked trail segment of the Perimeter Trail around Field C for a total of 1 mile of new trail that would result in completion of the Perimeter Trail around the entire Martial Cottle County Park. Scope includes: associated tree pruning, protection, and removals, excavation, grading and earthwork, installation of aggregate base rock, asphalt and concrete pavements, fence and gate removal and installation, drainage infrastructure, site furnishings, signage, and streetscape improvements within the Right-Of -Way along Chynoweth Ave, and increased Americans with Disabilities Act standard parking. The Project will provide improved access to the adjacent farmstand commercial facilities while providing improved and safer recreational access for the public. The new segments of trail will connect to the park's existing Perimeter Trail within the historic Cottle and Lester Historic Ranch site. The first proposed segment will run from the main park entrance on Snell Ave, south around the existing farmstand, and then west along Chynoweth Ave, connecting to the existing trail along Chynoweth Ave at the intersection of Avenida Almendros. The second segment will run from the pump house south across the Canoas Creek Bridge, around Field C connecting to the Route 85 underpass, and completing the Perimeter Trail around the park. The contract includes 3 bid alternates: 1) Split Rail Fencing from Branham Ave south to the main park entrance, 2) Split Rail Fencing from the main park entrance south to the farmstand, and 3) Field C trail improvements as shown in the construction documents.
