Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 635-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

The project generally consists of renovation of a mens and womens restroom (approximately 635 square feet of interior space). All inquiries & questions from bidders must be submitted electronically by e-mail to Ceasar.Duarte@newbedford-ma.gov no later than Monday, January 27, 2025 at 4:00 PM. The date of substantial completion for the Project shall be April 30, 2025. If the Owner accepts a proposal, it anticipates issuing a Notice to Proceed (NTP) within ten days of General Bid Opening. It is the NBPA intent to commence construction by February 28, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of $250 per day will be assessed if the work has not been completed in accordance with the provisions of the contract within the time specified (as extended by any authorized extension of time granted in accordance with the contract provisions). Bidders must provide documentation of experience in the Building Construction trade with approval by the New Bedford Port Authority. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit, in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurers or cashiers check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the New Bedford Port Authority in the amount of 5% of the bid. The New Bedford Port Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities in or to reject any and all bids if it be in the public interest to do so. All Bidders, both Sub and General, for this project are required to be certified with the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAM) for the work they are bidding on, and must submit with the bid an update of their respective qualifications.
