Public Safety Buildings. Renovation of an existing office building at 135 King St Cohasset, MA, to convert to be the Police Headquarters and Fire Sub-station 2 for the Town of Cohasset. The work will be a renovation of and addition to a 2-story, 12,000 sf office building to create a 24,000 sf Police Headquarters and Fire Dept. Sub-station. The Police Headquarters will house administrative offices, emergency operations center, departmental and community meeting rooms and departmental locker rooms. An addition to the north of the existing building will house Police detention areas, the Sally Port and (2) vehicle bays. An addition to the south of the existing building will house the Fire Department Sub-station with an apparatus bay for (2) fire apparatus and living quarters for (2) firefighters, as well as new building utility rooms. Site work will consist of regrading the site to accommodate the new work, relocation of existing utility services and connections to the building, a new transformer, addition of an emergency generator, added parking behind the building on the upper slope of the site, and new landscaping. New curb cuts and traffic signal on Hwy 3A will also be part of the scope of work.
