Renovation of a mixed-use development in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Project Fire Alarm Upgrade, Cohasset Middle and High Schools 143 Pond Street, Cohasset, MA 02025 Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. The project includes: the installation of a new fire detection and alarm system, and upon acceptance of the proposed system demolition and lawful disposal of the existing system. The work under the Contract consists of: 1. Obtain all permits, inspection and approvals; 2. Generally, the work includes installation of a complete, code-compliant fire detection and alarm system in the middle and high school building, and, following acceptance of the new system, removal of the existing fire detection and alarm system, including all devices, equipment, enclosures, and where accessible, raceways and wiring, and restoration of all affected surfaces. 3. Provide a complete code compliant addressable fire alarm upgrade including: (a) Replacement FACP, (b) New raceways and wiring for new devices within the buildings, concealed in walls, above ceilings and basements, or where approved, within new surface metal raceway (SMR), (c) Replacement peripheral devices (heat and smoke detectors, manual pull stations, horns, strobes and horn-strobes, monitor and control modules, power supplies, etc.); 4. Temporary removal and reinstallation of existing ceiling tiles and, where required, ceiling grid to facilitate the installation of the fire alarm wiring and devices. 5. Removal and replacement of small areas of plaster / gypsum board for installation of the new fire alarm wiring and devices. The work shall be patched, repaired and touchup painted to match the existing adjacent surface. 6. Cutting and patching of surfaces as required for installation of the work; 7. Upon acceptance of the proposed system, removal and lawful disposal of all existing fire alarm equipment, devices, accessible raceways, conductors, supports, etc.; 8. Patching of all openings where devices are removed or surfaces otherwise impacted, such as by removal of boxes, cabinets, SMR, etc.; 9. Touch-up painting of all impacted surfaces, such as cut areas, and where raceways, supports, devices, outlet boxes, etc. are removed (paint furnished by the Owner); 10. Operation and maintenance of the existing fire detection and alarm system until such time as the proposed system is installed, tested and accepted by the AHJ (does not include routine quarterly or annual testing); 11. Testing, training, commissioning and demonstration of the system; 12. Record Drawings; 13. Operation and Maintenance Instruction and Manuals; 14. Warranty. 15. All Work either shown on the drawings or included in the specifications unless specifically indicated as not to be done.
