Renovation of an educational facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project consists of upgrades to the building automation system throughout the school. Owner's Project cost range is the following: a. Total Estimated Cost of Construction for Base Bid: $390,000.00 b. Total Estimated Cost of Construction for Alternate #1: $420,000.00 c. Total Estimated Cost of Construction for Alternate #2: $365,000.00 General Contract (all trades). Bid Security shall be submitted with each bid as security the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid and shall furnish after the award of contract corporate surety bond or bonds, acceptable to the owner, for the faithful performance of the contract in the amount equivalent to 100% of the amount of the contract. a. Bid security shall be in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. Bid Security shall be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. a. Work to Begin on: June 4, 2025 or upon completion of the last day of school. b. Work Substantially Complete on or before: August 1, 2025. c. Final Project Completion on or before: September 26, 2025. The Owner seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in the awarding of contracts and is authorized to award contracts to Targeted Small Businesses per the Iowa Acts of the 73rd General Assembly, 1989 Regular Session, Senate File 2274. For further information about the Targeted Small Business policies, contact the Owner. This project has a target for Targeted Small Business participation of ten percent (10%). The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
