The City of Caldwell, Idaho will receive bids for 2025 Fog Coat of Chip Sealed Streets. Contact Information Bruce Mills Deputy Public Works Director (Transportation) Email: bmills@cityofcaldwell.org Phone: (208) 455-4689 This project encompasses the application of a fog coat on city streets in Zone 8 that will be chip sealed in June of 2025. Question Deadline 01/31/2025 at 2:00 PM MT Question Response Date: February 3, 2025 Action will be taken by the City within thirty (30) days of the opening date and the successful bidder will be required to enter into a written contract with the City within ten (10) days after Notice of Acceptance of his bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the total bid, which will be forfeited to the City if the bidder fails to enter into the contract. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned immediately following the award of the contract or 30 days after opening, if no award is made. All contractors submitting bids are required to have a valid Idaho Public Works License and to include the number on their submitted Bid. Payment and Performance Bonds equal to the bid amount are required upon award of Contract. This work is financed entirely from City funds. Federal Davis-Bacon wage requirements do not apply. The City reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any and all bids not in the best interest of the City. Award of Contract REJECTING BIDS - Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities not involving price, time or changes in the Work and to negotiate contract terms with the Successful Bidder, and the right to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids. Also, Owner reserves the right to reject the bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Project to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the Bid is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by Owner. Discrepancies in the multiplication of units of Work and unit prices will be resolved in favor of the unit prices. Discrepancies between the indicated sum of any column of figures and the correct sum thereof will be resolved in favor of the correct sum. Completion Date For the purposes of the Contract Documents, the following is the Completion Date: BIDDER agrees that this project will be substantially complete by September 19, 2025 and fully operational by or before September 19, 2025. BIDDER accepts the provisions of the Agreement as to liquidated damages in the event of failure to complete the work on time. Substantial Completion: Contractor shall have all work as described in the contract fully completed. Final Completion: Contractor shall have all aspects of the project 100% completed and approved by the City, including all punchlist items, clean up, stock pile & BMP removal, etc.. All equipment shall be removed from the project site and all areas within the project boundaries being left in a nice, neat, clean state.
