EXPANSION: New Alignment Future County Road 179th Street from Eagleview Drive to 800 feet east of Eagleview Drive in Lakeville. The East/West Corridor Preservation Study Phase 2 - Refinement of Preferred System Plan (2006) includes 179th Street as the preferred Alignment B between Highview Avenue and TH 3. The 179th Street alignment correlates with recent roadway improvements and the future land use plans of the city of Lakeville. Dakota County will participate with the City of Lakeville to build 179th Street to County State Aid Standards to accommodate future growth and traffic volumes along this corridor. The City of Lakeville is leading this project. This project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 15, 2025, per owner, this is not a publicly-bid project. This improvement is part of a development and will be designed and constructed by the developer’s engineer and contractor. They do not have a definitive timeframe for construction and knowledge of a contractor selection yet. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
