Renovation of an educational facility in Kingston, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Built in 1973, John Orr Tower ("JOT") is a 16-story apartment building containing 123 one bedroom apartments, each with a balcony. Contractor Scope of Work: A summary of the project scope contained within the Issued for Tender Package is as follows: - Replacement of the existing 5kV load break switch - Replacement of the 450kVA transformer - Replacement of the main 208/120 volt normal-power switchboard - Replacement of the main 208/120 volt emergency-power panel board - Replacement of the emergency generator - Replacement of the bus duct that rises up through the entire building JOT is part of Queen's Community Housing and has full-time tenants year-round. lengthy and/or numerous power shutdowns will not be tolerated and power will need to be restored at the end of each working day. Considerable thought will have to be put into temporary power as well as sequencing of work in order to minimize power shutdowns and risk of unplanned outages. Preferred Schedule: Projected Start Date: Contractor can start work immediately upon contract execution (tentatively March 2025) Project Substantial Completion Date: TBD based on projected equipment lead times at time of tender.
