Bidders must be prequalified with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Detailed work description: Asphalt concrete pavement plaining and resurfacing of multiple City streets as directed by the Engineer. Work shall include all required traffic control, cooperation and coordination with other contractors, shoulder renovation as needed, and other incidental work as may be required. Resurfacing limits may be increased, decreased, or modified and streets may be added or removed at the City's discretion without adjustment to contract unit prices. The total base bid amount, or negotiated amount, may be awarded but split between fiscal years meaning part of the award would occur prior to June 30th and any remaining award amount would occur after July 1. Contract Time Limits: 25% of the list of streets currently scheduled to be resurfaced shall be completed by December 12, 2025. Final completion of all streets on the attached list shall be completed by June 30, 2026. There is no established DBE participation goal for this contract. Prevailing wages in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act are not required on this contract. Bid security (bid bond, certified check, or cash escrow) equal to at least 5% of the bid amount is required with bid. Performance and payment bonds each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price will be required.
