The Virginia Department of Forestry is looking for a contractor who has work experience and knowledge in tree removal to remove 100 marked trees at the historic Flippen cemetery in Danville, VA. The work consists of removing 100 marked trees, up to five branch hangers and three wind-thrown trees within the 0.54-acre parcel. There is a one lane unimproved dirt access road from Greentree Rd in Danville to the cemetery site. The perimeter of the work area is designated by the map. Due to the sensitive nature of this historic grave site, bidders must have at least five (5) years' experience successfully fulfilling tree removal contracts and must have experience removing trees at historic sites, as evidenced by the references indicated on the Vendor Data Sheet. If contract is awarded the work shall be completed before April 10, 2025. DOF staff reserves the right to be onsite for the duration of the project and may stop work at any point of time if unsatisfactory.
