As of January 2, 2026, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified consultant team to provide architectural services for the Phoenix Fire Department to design a new fire station (Fire Station No. 7). This project site is located at 3rd Street and 4th Street off E. Townley Avenue on City of Phoenix owned property. Services will include design and possible construction administration and observation. The estimated total construction cost for this project is $15 million. This project will require the design of the new Fire Station No. 7 to be built on City of Phoenix owned property. The specific building location on the site has not been determined at the time of this request. The proposed site will be 3.5 acres minimum in size, relatively square in shape, and have some existing setbacks and easements that will affect the overall use and placement of buildings and driveways. A two stories solution may be required. This project will utilize General Obligation Bond Program (GO Bond) Funding. Utilization of Small Business participation is encouraged but is not required. Fire Station No. 7 is proposed to be a two-story fire station with approximately 18,000 gross square feet. It will have four apparatus bays and a minimum of 16 dormitories with all the standard fire station amenities including whole station generator and diesel fuel island. There will be with the typical spaces associated with a fire station of this size - kitchen, dining, day room, individual restrooms, and exercise space. A meeting room for staff and public use may become part of the scope. The scope of work will also include site development, parking, hardscape, landscape, irrigation, security lighting, and other elements as required. The architectural elements, landscape, and hardscape to be designed to match and blend with the surrounding community. The fire station will be designed in accordance with the Phoenix Fire Department Station A/E Guide and will also comply with City of Phoenix Building Standards. The project shall incorporate previously utilized methodologies, including but not limited to: ICF, SIPS, Recycled Product Content, SEER, EER, and the USGBC V4.1 New Construction Reference Guide. The consultant team will be responsible for general project administration, schematic design/pre-design phase (30%), design development phase (60%, 90% and 100%), commissioning, cost analysis, construction documents and specifications, and possible construction administration, materials testing coordination, and observation services. It is anticipated that this project will be implemented through a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) contract. The consultant shall have demonstrated experience in design and construction administration and observation on similar projects. City Rights. The City of Phoenix reserves the right to reject any or all Statements of Qualifications, to waive any informality or irregularity in any Statement of Qualifications received, and to be the sole judge of the merits of the respective Statements of Qualifications received Pre- bid notes: A pre-submittal meeting will be held at 200 W. Washington Street, City Hall, 5th Floor Conference Room 5 West and via Teams. At this meeting, City staff will discuss the scope of work, general project requirements, and respond to questions from the attendees. It is strongly recommended that interested firms attend the pre-submittal meeting.
