Dewatering Polymer - Cationic Emulsion Polyacrylamide (EPAM) Polymer SPECIFICATIONS Proposed product shall be readily activated for effective use in the existing polymer make-down and handling equipment at WLSSD. Polymer shall have a low toxicity with respect to contact with skin and eyes and to accidental ingestion or inhalation. There shall be no foam associated with the use of this EPAM in the dewatering system at WLSSD. There shall be no objectionable odor incidental to the storage and handling of this product, nor with its incorporation into the sludge and the downstream sludge processing. Active polymer content shall be 26% minimum and have a shelf life of at least six (6) months. All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount (based on a year agreement cost) and made payable to Western Lake Superior Sanitary District. Performance and Payment Bonds: The vendor will provide WLSSD with a Performance Bond in the amount of $250,000, in a form and issued by a surety acceptable to WLSSD, and naming WLSSD as obligee under the bonds, bonding and assuring the vendor's performance of the Agreement. The premium shall be paid by the vendor and the bonds shall be maintained in force until completion of the Agreement. If the 1 year extension is utilized, the price per pound maybe negotiated either upward or downward. WLSSD reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities and to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the organization. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days of the bid closing date.
