Garrett-Strong Switchgear Replacement A. Scope: The project includes all labor, materials, excavation, hoisting, lifts, related equipment, temporary power, tools and supervision necessary for the Garrett-Strong Switchgear Replacement project on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, MO. The scope includes, but is not limited to disconnecting and demolishing the existing medium voltage unit substation (USS) and close-coupled low-voltage switchgear; intercepting the existing medium voltage feeder in the tunnel leading to Garrett-Strong and extending it to a new exterior pad-mounted transformer provided by the contractor; providing a new 2000-amp exterior main switch in Nema 3R enclosure; providing a mew 2000-ampmain distribution switchboard in the lower mechanical room at the same location as the existing switchboard and feeder from the exterior main switch; reconnecting existing feeders to the new switchboard. The project also includes demolishing an existing exterior-mounted junction box and feeder to the existing low-voltage switchboard currently being used to back-feed the switchboard during temporary power during outages through the use of the University-owned portable generator; providing a new exterior wall-mounted generator docking station and a feeder to a new manual transfer switch provided by the contractor; providing a new emergency distribution panelboard and feeder from the manual transfer switch to isolate and energize loads supported by the University-owned generator during utility outages. B. MBE/WBE/SDVE Goals: MBE 10%, WBE 10% & SDVE 3% Note: Only MBE/WBE firms certified by a State of Missouri public entity, and SDVE(s) meeting the requirements of Section 34.074, RSMo, and 1 CSR 30-5.010, as of the date of bid opening, can be used to satisfy the MBE/WBE/SDVE participation goals for this Project.
