The general description of work includes group picnic areas, picnic tables, benches, pedestrian accessible paths, basketball court, pedestrian path improvements, and landscape and irrigation improvements and other items of work as shown on the Project Plans and specified in the Special Provisions. No Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for this project. The successful Bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract within fourteen (14) calendar days from receipt of the Notice of Award letter. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, of the State of California, the "General Prevailing Wage Determinations" in the County in which work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the Contract document from time to time, without retention from any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value of the retained amount with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, shall be valued by the City, whose decision on valuation of the securities shall be final. Securities eligible for investment under this provision shall be limited to those listed in Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code and Section 16430 of the California Government Code. The Contractor shall indemnify and hold harmless the City from any and all loss or damage suffered by the City as a result of any wrongful or negligent act or omission on the part of the Contractor or any of its officers, employees or agents with respect to the performance for Escrow Agreement. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to determine which proposal is, in its judgment, the lowest responsive bid of a responsible bidder and which proposal should be accepted in the best interest of the City. The City also reserves the right to waive any irregularities in any proposal or bid. Proposals in which the prices are obviously unbalanced may be rejected.
