2025 Street Improvement Project (Preservation - UBAS) UBAS treatment on selected streets within the City of Overland Park, Kansas. Est. Completion Date: Nov. 7, 2025 Site Directions: Multiple Locations in Overland Park, Kansas The 2015 Standard Specifications for State Road and Bridge Construction, Sections 109, 601, 611 (Class A), 1201, 1202, and 1203 shall govern the asphaltic concrete work except as otherwise modified herein. All testing required by thisspecification including mix design and field verification of the mix shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. The mix design shall be modified or redesigned whenever a material source changes or a quarry starts producing from a different geological unit or a major change is made to the asphalt plant. This work shall be subsidiary to other bid items. This work will consist of the removal of the existing surface to the depth and limits shown on the Plans or established by the Engineer and in accordance with this section. It shall also include the loading and stockpiling, if required, of the milled material and the cleaning of milled surfaces prior to applying a tack coat. The Contractor will be responsible for asphalt crack repairs as shown on the plans and/or as identified by the City Construction Inspector. Asphalt Patching shall apply to existing asphalt pavements. At the locations shown on the plans the Contractor shall construct an asphalt sidewalk. The asphaltic mix to be used for this construction shall conform to the requirements for mix designation "KCMMB A2" as specified in specification section 600 - Overland Park Super Pave Asphaltic Concrete Surface and Intermediate Course. This work shall include areas where the sidewalk or sidewalk ramp is removed and replaced at signalized intersections, where indicated in the plans or as directed by the Engineer. This work shall consist of the construction of commercial entrances in accordance with the Specifications and conformance to the Standard Details and lines and grades shown on the drawings or as approved by the City Engineer. This work shall consist of the placement of "Geosynthetic Subgrade Stabilization" as identified in the plans and shall comply with Section 1710 GEOSYNTHETICS of the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Standard Specifications except as provided herein.
