The City of St. Charles, Missouri is accepting bids from qualified contractors to provide repair and maintenance of gas lights for the City Scope of Work The objective of this bid is to provide on-going weekly maintenance for the existing gas light system owned by the City of St. Charles. The maintenance work shall include but not be limited to: 1. Inspect 182 gas lights each week 2. Clean glass and replace damaged mantles on 182 gas lights located on Main St. and Boone's Lick Road (every 4 months: Spring, before Festival of the Little Hills/early August, before Thanksgiving). 3. Replace damaged gas light post; if post has concrete or pavers around post, City will remove and replace concrete or pavers 4. Replace gas light fixture 5. Replace any damaged mantles weekly 6. Replace broken glass with new tempered glass panel 7. Rebuild triple burner and venture Contract Term: The initial term of agreement shall be through December 31, 2025. The City shall have the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year terms at the prices listed on the Bid Form. Question Deadline 02/05/2025 at 3:00 PM CT. In the event it is necessary to revise any portion of this IFB, addenda will be provided to all Vendors who received the original IFB via electronically. If you received this IFB by means other than the bid system, addenda will be available online. Each bid shall be made on the attached Bid Form and must include all documents in this bid package, the signature of the owner or authorized officer of the Vendor submitting said bid, and the complete mailing address of said Vendor. Bid tabulation sheets will be available online The City of Saint Charles reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The City reserves the right to waive any variances from original bid specifications in cases where the variances are considered to be in the best interest of the City Method of Award Contracts shall be awarded to the lowest bidder meeting all specified requirements and considered the best. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or a certified check for an amount not less than five (5) percent of the bid amount, payable unconditionally to the City of Saint Charles, Missouri as a guarantee that the bidder will execute a contract and furnish the required bond if the bid is accepted. Failure to submit bid bond will result in rejection of bid. Performance & Payment Bonds Per City Code of Ordinance Section 145.020, "On all contracts for public work of any kind to be performed for the City, the cost of which is estimated to exceed fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00), every Bidder entering into contract with the City for any such public work shall execute therewith and file in the office of the City Clerk a bond, with good and sufficient sureties to be approved by the City Attorney, in an amount equal to the contract price for such work and conditioned among other things for the faithful performance of the contract, the payment of any and all materials incorporated, consumed or used in connection with the construction of such work and all insurance premiums, both for compensation and for all other kinds of insurance, on the work and for all labor performed in such work, whether by subcontractor or otherwise."
