Reference Number 0000286014 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/02/21 04:30:00 PM CST Pricing Lump sum The Rural Municipality of Mountain requires a mowing contractor for the delivery of annual weed and brush control program for the summer of 2025. The work involves mowing grade slopes and ditches along various municipal roads in the Mountain North and Mountain South areas. Mowing Mowing shall extend from the shoulder line to a point 4.2 meters or greater down the grade slope, unless the road and ditch conditions do not warrant this width. No payment will be made for cuts wider than requested by the Municipality. The Contractor shall make as many passes as are required to achieve the designated width. The Contractor is expected to mow areas that contain small brush and willows up to 1.5" in diameter. Mowing shall be undertaken in such a way as to prevent objects being thrown into the path of vehicular traffic. Mowing of slopes and ditches shall be done so as to produce a uniform finished cut, not exceeding 10cm in height. Two days after mowing, if vegetation exceeds a height of 10cm, the Municipality may instruct the Contractor correct the deficiency at his own expense. If the Contractor fails to comply, the Municipality may have the work undertaken by others and the cost of such work deducted from the Contractor's progressive payment. Note: All mowing shall be done during daylight hours only. Approaches Approaches shall be mowed the same width as along the travelled way, but not less than the width necessary to ensure the height of the vegetation does not exceed the approach shoulder. The approach shall be mowed from the municipal road driving surface to the edge of the municipal road right of way. Vegetation on the approach surface shall also be mowed. No additional compensation will be paid for this work as this will be considered incidental to the Contract. Roadside Obstacles The contractor shall mow to within 1.0 meters of all obstacles. The cost of replacing broken signposts shall be deducted from the Contractor's progressive payments at the rate of $50. for guideposts and $100. for each signpost that is damaged by mowing equipment. The Contractor shall inform the Municipality of all sign damage immediately. Vegetation around culverts shall also be mowed to within 1.0 meters when ends are exposed by the side slope cut.
