Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Eureka, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 27,000-square-foot educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; library; library; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Project consists of renovating the existing 27,000 square foot, three story Melick Library building and converting it into a Student Success Center. The new spaces will include offices, conference rooms, study rooms, and academic support rooms. The existing library will be relocated to the second floor. The project also includes interior finish upgrades, window replacement, replacing the existing mechanical, electrical and fire alarm systems, adding (4) single user toilet rooms, adding a fire protection system to the building and exterior improvements including an ADA parking space and ADA compliant sidewalk and ramp to the building entry. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. The Owner has established a collective minimum total goal of 20% participation of the construction contract value shall endeavor to be supplied by women owned business enterprise (WBE), and minority owned business enterprise (MBE) businesses for Illinois, with at least 7% supplied by WBE and 13% supplied by MBE. Submission of the vendor/subcontractor certification of classification will be required. The successful Bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, a separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
