Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Elgin, Illinois. Working plans call for the construction of a 193,000-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf Elgin School District U-46 is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the Construction of the New Elgin Middle School. School will consist of full classroom, administration, support areas, cafeteria, gymnasiums, storm shelter, and learning stairs. School is to be constructed of masonry and steel with full finishes on the interior to provide a long-lasting place for education. New building will provide an excellent place for learning, extra curriculars, and a competitive environment for generations to come. A full site development will occur with parking lots, bus lanes, drop off lanes, widening of adjacent roads, as well as landscaping. Site will also include new sidewalks to the school property together with the surrounding neighborhood and will connect properties with neighboring Hilltop Elementary. As of April 10, 2025, construction is anticipated to begin in Summer 2025 and completed by August 2027.
