The proposed improvement includes removal of existing playground and surfacing, concrete paving, shelter, fitness equipment, playground safety surfacing, drinking fountain, plumbing and underdrainage and all other appurtenant work and materials necessary to complete the project. An original bid bond (in the amount of 5% of the original bid amount) must be delivered to the City of Elgin Purchasing Department, 150 Dexter Court no later than 12:00 pm on February 14, 2025. The bid bond with surety satisfactory to the City, in either surety bond, cash, certified check, cashier's check, or bank money order on a solvent bank shall be made payable to the City of Elgin, Illinois. The City of Elgin reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or to waive any informality in any bids. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory contract bond to the City of Elgin by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois covering the full amount of the contract. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wage, shall provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project and comply with the Responsible Bidder's Ordinance and Elgin Residency Ordinance for the duration of the project. Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids. Successful contract bidders are also encouraged to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
