Site work and paving for a civil project in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The purpose of this request is to provide the City of Sioux Falls with formal bids for Water Reclamation Facility Concrete Paving - Phase 2. This report presents the results of the recent geotechnical exploration program for the proposed improvements to and expansion of the existing Sioux Falls Water Reclamation Facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This project is estimate at $2,500,000.00 and will be funded with CIP No. 23043. The bidder will commence work under this contract on or after March 31, 2025 and fully complete the project on or before October 15, 2025. Our work was performed in accordance with the authorization of Josh VandenBos with the City of Sioux Falls - Engineering Department. The scope of work as presented in this report is limited to the following: 1. To perform 41 test borings to gather data on the subsurface conditions at the site (test borings are labeled 1 through 27 and 50 through 63). However, we were unable to perform 4 of the test borings (test borings 1, 6, 7 and 8) due to conflicts with existing utilities. Also, we did not perform test boring 62 because it was located within 5 feet of test boring 19. Therefore, only 36 test borings were performed. 2. To perform laboratory tests that include moisture content, dry density, sieve analysis (#200 sieve wash), Atterberg limits (liquid and plastic limits), standard Proctor, swell, unconfined compressive strength, consolidation, resistivity, pH, redox potential, sulfide content, chloride content and sulfate content. 3. To install 11 temporary groundwater observation wells to gather groundwater data on a periodic basis at the site. 4. To prepare an engineering report that includes the results of the field and laboratory tests as well as our earthwork and foundation recommendations for design and construction.
