Renovation of a municipal facility in Avoca, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Public Safety Station Project Location: 1313 N. Sawmill Drive, Avoca, Iowa 51521 Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, certified check, cashier's check, or certified credit union share draft in a separate sealed envelope in an amount equal to 10 percent of the total amount of the Bid. If Bid Bond is submitted, it must be on the form provided with the Contract Documents. The certified check, cashier's check, or certified credit union share draft shall be drawn on a bank in Iowa, a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or said certified share draft shall be drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States and payable to the Treasurer of the Owner as security that if awarded a contract, the Bidder will enter into a contract at the prices Bid and furnish the required Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond(s) each in the amount of one hundred percent of the Work, and provide a Certificate of Insurance. The certified check, cashier's check, or certified share draft may be cashed, or the Bid Bond forfeited, and the proceeds retained as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute a contract or file acceptable Performance, Payment and Maintenance Bond(s) or provide an acceptable Certificate of Insurance within 15 days after the acceptance of said Bid by resolution of the Owner. Bidders will be required to provide a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of bid amount. The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds of 100 percent of bid amount. The Work will be substantially completed within 300 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 4.01 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within 330 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Owner reserves right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in bids or bidding. Question Deadline 02/07/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Architect in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Architect in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda to all parties who are known to have received a complete set of Bidding Documents. Copies of Addenda will be made available for inspection wherever Bidding Documents are on file for that purpose. B. Questions received less than 10 days prior to the date for opening of bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The site for the proposed project is located northeast of the intersection of West Tradeport Drive and North Sawmill Road in Avoca, Iowa. The site was bordered by residences to the north, grass field to the east, grocery store to the south, and North Sawmill Drive to the west. At the time of drilling, the site surface consisted of grass. The building site sloped down to the southwest with approximately 3 feet of elevation change between the Boring Locations B1 through B4. The site was firm at the time of our site visit and the drill rig did not experience difficulty moving around the site.
