This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Newmarket, Ontario. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority's annual spring afforestation program involves the planting of approximately 41,000 seedlings on private and public land across its watershed. Most of the seedlings are planted using a tractor-mounted planter, with some hand planting when necessary. Based on a 4-year running total, there are typically 24 planting sites per year and the average project size is 1,700 trees per planting site. To control competing vegetation, the Conservation Authority offers landowners optional post-planting herbicide treatment with the application of Simazine 480 and/or a glyphosate-based product (Roundup WeatherMAX/VisionMAX). Based on a 4-year running total, approximately 60% of projects opt for post-planting herbicide application, resulting in the treatment of 20,000- 25,000 trees annually. Contractor(s) are invited to bid on a variety of tree planting and herbicide application services for the spring of 2025. Question Deadline: Wed Feb 12, 2025 12:00 PM (EST) Prebid Event There will be an optional online bidder's meeting where the project will be described and questions will be answered in order to assist in bid development.
