Site work and paving for a civil project in Nashville, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
This project shall be financed with Transportation Investment Act (TIA) funding. The meeting will be held at the City of Nashville City Hall and will be opened to the public. Proposals can be mailed to the attention of Mr. Hayden Hancock, City Manager for the City of Nashville, P. O. Box 495, Nashville, Georgia 31639 or delivered to 405 W. Washington, Nashville, Georgia 31639. Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered. The City of Nashville may select a successful low bidder after evaluation of all bids. Contractors shall submit all questions in writing to Mark Dill via email or fax. Email address is mark.dill@swecivil.com. Fax number is 912-383-6895. The deadline for all questions is 9:00am, Tuesday, February 25, 2025. All questions received and answers will be provided to all contractors in an addendum and listed on the Georgia Procurement Registry The Scope of Work Includes: West Smith Avenue Resurfacing (Including Emergency Culvert Repair). Total of 0.18 Miles. All proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in favor of the City of Nashville in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the lump sum bid for the complete work: such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded a Contract, will promptly enter into a Contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bonds as provided by the law and approved by the Attorney for the City of Nashville. Performance Bond shall be equal to 100 Percent (100%) of the contract amount and Payment Bond shall be equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract amount. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to the City of Nashville as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract. The Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications, 2021 Edition, any applicable Supplemental Specifications, 2024 Edition, Special Provisions, or any other provision contained within this contract will be applicable to this project. All materials, workmanship, testing, etc. shall meet the Georgia Department of Transportation Specifications Any work required in excess of 4 feet deep shall be performed by a contractor or subcontractor having a valid Georgia Utility License. This requirement is defined in Chapter 14 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia and issued by the State of Georgia Secretary of State. Even though this project may not reach nor exceed minimum requirements such as depth of trench, project construction cost, etc. as described by the Chapter 14 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia, the prime contractor submitting the bid or the subcontractor performing the utility related work must hold a valid Georgia Utility Contractor License. The utility license number must be placed with the bid or the bid will be rejected. The Owner reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive informalities, and to accept any Bid which in its opinion may be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner has the right to add or to delete from the Contract once it has been awarded. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of the bids.
