Renovation of an educational facility in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,751-square-foot educational facility.
Serena Hall Roof Replacement MBE 10% WBE 5% SDVE 3% Refer to the Drawings and Details Specification for additional information. B. This Project consists of six (6) roof areas totaling approximately 14,751 SF. See roof drawing RP-1 for additional information. C. Contractor is not required to obtain local permits from the City or Municipality prior to beginning construction.D. Contractor to include licensed subcontractors (as needed) to complete all work under the Base Bid. E. Provide required project submittals. Do not commence work without approved submittals from the Consultant. F. Distribute construction related loads to prevent damage to the structure. The roofer is to inspect the construction related areas before work to ensure the roof can accommodate the construction related loads and activities. Provide adequate precautions to secure the area before work commences. G. Unit Costs shall be an amount proposed by the Bidders and stated on the Bid Form for certain work defined in the bid requirements that will be added or deducted from the base bid amount at the discretion of the Owner. The cost is to be "turn-key" and include all applicable and associated charges/costs to complete the work. No other adjustments shall be made to the Contract Sum. Refer to Unit Prices Section. H. Inspect interior of the facility for "nested" conduit that may be punctured during installation of the new roof components. Identify these areas and install the roof system in a fashion to avoid puncturing these conduits. Damaged conduit and associated issues are the responsibility of the Contractor and must be corrected to Owner/Consultant's satisfaction. I. All flashing heights to meet or exceed eight inch (8") minimum requirement, unless otherwise noted. J. Heat weld all laps, flashings, and details. Seam tape products are not approved for this project except where specifically stated. K. Provide overnight tie-ins at the end of each and every workday regardless of weather predictions. Refer to 1.16 for additional information. L. All metalwork to be designed, fabricated, and installed per SMACNA guidelines unless otherwise stated. M. Owner to select metal color(s) from manufacturer's "standard colors". N. Add/modify perimeter wood blocking as required to accommodate the new roofing system, detailing, and elevations. O. All roof perimeter wood blocking (including existing) shall be secured in accordance with the "Typical Wood Nailer Attachment" as provided and detailed or per FM 1-49 whichever is greater. Bidders are informed that the Project is subject to the requirements of Section 292.675, RSMo, which requires all contractors or subcontractors doing work on the Project to provide, and require its on-site employees to complete, a ten (10) hour course in construction safety and health approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA") or a similar program approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations which is at least as stringent as an approved OSHA program. All employees who have not previously completed the program must complete the program within sixty (60) days before the date work on the Project commences. On-site employees found on the worksite without documentation of the required training shall have twenty (20) days to produce such documentation before being subject to removal from the Project. Bidders must comply to all statutory regulations as referred to in the specifications. A certified or cashier's check or bid bond executed by Bidder and approved Surety Company, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal.
