This project may contain Federal Funds. This project requires 21% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.07. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on April 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase II engineering services are required to prepare contract plans, structural designs, specifications, cost estimates, supplemental surveying, geotechnical services, lighting design, and any other necessary work to complete the interchange improvements for I-290 at IL 171 (1st Avenue) from Lexington Street to Van Buren Street and the bridge replacement for I-290 at 5th Avenue. Other key components of the project involve converting the existing interchange into a Single Point Urban Interchange (SPUI), lowering the I-290 profile, drainage improvements, upgrading traffic signals, enhancing ADA accessibility, installing signalized bike and pedestrian crossings, and providing bus pads and shelters The completion date for this contract will be 36 months after authorization to proceed.
