Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Work consists of Watermain Replacement Projects in the City of Humboldt, Saskatchewan for the City of Humboldt. 10 th Street from 9 th Avenue to 12th Avenue Work consists of replacing the existing 300mm DI water line with a new 300mm C900 DR18 PVC water main. There is also a 150mm CI water line that will be abandoned in place. All the services that tie into the 150mm CI water line will be reconnected to the new 300mm line. Temporary water will be required for all properties. Once the water main has been replaced, the road surface shall be rebuilt with either a collector or local road structure. (Site to be inspected by owner and contractor and direction given on what direction to proceed.) Contractor to stage work to minimize length of road closures. Main Street from 1st Avenue South to Saskatchewan Avenue Work consists of replacing the existing 200mm CI water line with a new 250mm DR11 HDPE water main. The new watermain will be directional drilled approximately 5m east of the existing line. The 200mm CI line is the only service to 120 properties. The goal is this project is to minimise the down time to these users. The existing line would remain in service until the end of the project, where the existing line would then be depressurized and connections made at 1st Avenue South and Saskatchewan Avenue. There are 2 properties directly serviced off the existing waterline that will be replaced and connected to the new line at the end of the project. Main Street to remain open during the project. The shoulder may be closed as needed for the duration of the project. Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer Structure Repairs / Replacement All sanitary and storm manholes in the project area are to be inspected on site and if in poor condition, repaired or replaced. (Work typically consists of replacing the top brick riser rings, installing new concrete riser rings, and installing a new frame & cover on the manhole.) All storm sewer catchbasins are to be inspected and if in poor condition, repaired or replaced. (Work typically consists of removing brick sections, installing new concrete riser rings and installing a new frame & cover.) Concrete Curbing & Sidewalks Any curbing removed will need to be approved by the Owner. Any curbing / sidewalk damaged by the contractor that was not approved by the Owner shall be replaced at the Contractor's expense. Typical Allowances are for 3m sections for service replacements / hydrant replacements Road Structure Replacement All roadways to consist of a geotextile layer similar to Combigrid 30. The cloth will be supplied by the city. Local Road Structures consists of 255mm of base gravel and 40mm of road gravel. Collector Road Structures consists of 200mm of sub-base gravel, 255mm of base gravel and 40mm of road gravel. Paving to be completed the following year by another contractor. The Crown to be re-established in areas where the entire roadway is rebuilt to be between 2.5% to 4%. The finished road surface will be 5mm above the existing curbing. Bids must be accompanied by the specified Bid Bond and Consent of Surety Company payable to the City of Humboldt. Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the Total Bid Price shall accompany the BID FORM The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and a Labour and Materials Payment Bond in accordance with the GENERAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT (Section 01050). The bond shall be made to the Owner as beneficiary and shall be submitted within 10 working days of the award of Contract and before the Agreement is executed. Each bond shall be in the amount of 50% of the total bid price. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason, without explanation, whether arbitrary, unreasonable, or otherwise.
