Site work and new construction of a power facility in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Conceptual plans call for site work for a power facility; and for the construction of a power facility.

Iqaluit diesel-generated electricity replacement. It would include an approximately 50-metre-high dam and a powerhouse built along the Kuugaluk River, about 60 kilometers northeast of Iqaluit. TIMELINE: Project is on hold due to funding. The hydroelectric project could be operational by 2033. Tender and construction timelines are undetermined. Update may be available in fall 2026, upon approvals.
