Proposals will be accepted for the supply of the following: o Line Painting and Thermoplastic Pavement Markings o Ultra-thin bonded wearing course (gradation B) A ten percent (10%) bid bond will be required. In-Place application (Form 944) of approximately 48,160 square yards of single application oil and chip seal coat. Asphalt shall be CRS-2PM asphalt emulsion applied at a rate of .4 gal/sq. yard. Distributor should be computer rate controlled with accuracy of plus or minus 5% for determined application rate. Aggregate shall be washed 1-B crushed quarry stone passing a 1% wash test. Aggregate shall be applied at a rate of 18-22 lbs/sq yard. Chip spreader shall be capable of placing chips at a width of 20 feet in a single pass. Make, model, and serial number of chip spreader proposed to be used shall be submitted on the schedule of prices page where indicated. Chip spreader shall be computer rate controlled and accurate to within 5% of specified application rate. The contractor shall provide a minimum of two employees on the chip spreader for reasons of safety. Stone samples, grading report and wash test must be submitted to the township two weeks prior to the start of the project. This bid shall include all equipment, material, hauling, operators, laborers, traffic control, signs, and any and all items and personnel to perform and complete all work in accordance with standards set forth in Penn DOT publication 408 and additional specifications of the Township. Sweeping of all roads no more than three days prior to seal coat -is required. Sweeping with a pick-up type of street sweeper no more than two weeks after seal coat application is required. Contractor is responsible for traffic control. Traffic shall not be allowed at any time to come in contact with wet or uncured asphalt emulsion. Contractor will be responsible for any damage incurred due to wet or uncured emulsions. Scheduling must be approved by the Township Road master. All equipment shall be in good repair and appearance and be equipped with warning lights/devices. All workers shall be neat, professional, and able to perform their individual tasks. All workers shall be provided with safety equipment. Workers shall act in a courteous manner to the public and direct any problem or complaint to the Township Road master.
