Introduction The City of Upland is requesting proposals from qualified land surveying and civil engineering firms, licensed in the State of California, for the purpose of entering into a professional consultant services agreement to perform land surveying & base mapping services in connection with pavement rehabilitation and utility improvements on a segment of 19th Street as described below. Project Location and Background 19th Street is a residential street and an other principal arterial road under the California Road System (CRS) Maps that runs in the east-west direction. The proposed project has a total length of approximately 5,700 feet, with a right-of-way width of 66 feet. The location of the proposed project is shown on the attached project location map. Firms submitting Proposals are encouraged to visit the project area to review site conditions first hand. Description of Work The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain the services of a licensed land surveying firm to provide design services for the 19th Street Reconstruction Project. The improvements proposed under this project consist primarily of street infrastructure rehabilitation (i.e. curbs, gutters, sidewalks, curb ramps, asphalt pavement, etc.), abandon existing 6" diameter water main, installation of fire hydrant assemblies, installation of new copper water services, water main pipeline connections to side streets, installation of a RCP storm drain, and replacement of existing brick sewer and storm drain manholes, all with associated appurtenances. The Scope of Work includes the following: Topographic Survey The survey limits for the anticipated improvements described above are shown on the attached map. The city's vertical and horizontal datum shall be used, and survey control for future construction shall be set. This is a roadway and utility improvement project that generally requires detailed design surveys as described below, for the length of roadway shown on said map. The surveyor will be expected to perform an adequate aerial LIDAR survey supplemented with ground topographic survey for the preparation of a complete and accurate set of improvement plans and specifications to be designed by the City of Upland.
