The work to be performed under this contract is generally described as, but not necessarily limited to the installation of City furnished traffic signals and all relevant components along with traffic control devices such as signage, pavement markings and traffic stripping, and performing all appurtenant work in place and ready for use, all as shown in the Contract Plans and Specifications. In accordance with SB 854, all contractors who bid or work on Public Works projects for the City of Lathrop are subject to the following requirements: DIR Registration. Each Bidder submitting a proposal to complete the work, labor, materials and/or services ("Work") subject to this procurement must be a Department of Industrial Relations registered contractor pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 ("DIR Registered Contractor"). A Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when submitting a proposal for Work is deemed "not qualified" and the proposal of such a Bidder will be rejected for non-responsiveness. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5, all Subcontractors identified in a Bidder's Subcontractors' List shall be DIR Registered Contractors. If awarded the Contract for the Work, at all times during performance of the Work, the Bidder and all Subcontractors, of any tier, shall be DIR Registered Contractors. The WORK for the Lathrop High School Pedestrian Signal Project shall include but is not limited to the following major work items and requirements: 1. The work shall include mobilization, temporary traffic control, removal of existing thermoplastic striping and markings, removal of existing signage and posts, install City furnished Traffic Signals and components, install a concrete Pad for Controller Cabinet, City Network Box, Service Enclosure, furnish and install Type III-AF Service Enclosure (anodized aluminum), install City furnished network box 30"x36"x18" min. with 120V 20A receptable and fan, new thermoplastic striping and markings, and install City furnished signage and poles, as shown in the construction documents. 2. General Requirements of these Specifications; 3. Technical Requirements of these Specifications; 4. All work on this project will be coordinated with the City's Engineering and Public Works staff; 5. Provide training for the City and facility operation personnel; 6. Provide O&M manuals for equipment. The engineer's estimate for the work contemplated by the Base Bid Schedule is $456,000.
