Site work, new construction and renovation of a transportation facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 15,000-square-foot transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
*As of August 25, 2025, a Design Builder has been awarded for this project. The awarded Design Builder anticipates to begin Design this coming September, 2025. Although not yet firm, procurement process for Design Build/Sub bidding could likely take place in the Summer next year, 2026. Construction is expected to start in August of next year, 2026. The City is seeking to award a contract to a design-build firm for delivery of an estimated 15,000 sf helicopter hangar structure capable of housing four (4) helicopters, supporting fuel farm, illuminated Touchdown and Lift off area (TLOF), secure fencing, and other related appurtenances to support the facility]. The adjacent existing building occupied by CMPD also requires minor renovations such as the creation of locker rooms and other administrative support spaces for the Hangar program.
