Work under this contract includes repaving of approximately 2400LF of 10ft walkways in McAuliffe Park located at 30 Remington Rd in the Town of East Hartford. It also includes other appurtenant work such as milling, paving and storm water runoff management. Bid security in the form of a 5% bid bond, payable to the Town of East Hartford, is required of all bidders and a 100% Performance Bond will be required of the awarded bidder. N ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED AN OFFICIAL PLAN HOLDER AND ELIGIBLE BIDDER FOR THE PROJECT, THE PURCHASING AGENT MUST RECEIVE AN EMAIL indicating interest in bidding, company information, and main contact information on, or before, THURSDAY, MARCH 13, 2025. The Bidder hereby agrees to commence Work under this Contract within ten (10) days of written Notice to Proceed from the Town, and to complete the Work of all base bid items no later than August 22, 2025, which shall be the required Date of Completion. The Bidder further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) for each consecutive calendar day beyond the date of completion. Liquidated damages are not intended as a penalty but rather shall be construed as a best estimate of damages which the Town will suffer due to Bidder's refusal, failure or neglect to perform pursuant to his Bid and Contract Documents. The Work will be substantially complete on or before August 20,2025, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before August 22, 2025.
