The City of Lacey is soliciting submittals of qualifications from civil engineering consulting firms with expertise in transportation engineering, specifically roadway design. Project Description The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing preliminary engineering design plans and specifications for roadway reconstruction and widening for a segment of Rainier Road SE from Yelm Highway SE to 66th Avenue SE. This work will include adding sidewalks and bike lanes to both sides of Rainier Road SE, and a two-way left turn lane. Also included will be right of way appraisals and negotiation assistance, and environmental support services and cultural resource analysis. Construction is expected to begin by 2028. This project is funded by a grant from the Transportation Improvement Board. Evaluation Criteria 1. Firm's recent experience designing roadway reconstruction projects 2. Qualifications of key personnel that will be working directly on the project 3. Firm's current workload and resources available for this project 4. Approach to project design 5. Proficiency of key personnel using the latest versions of computer software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Highway Capacity Software 6.
