Description

Renovation of a water / sewer project in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Removal of Spent Activated Carbon Contractor shall remove the granular activated carbon from the two (2) FCFs and discard the spent activated carbon into 20-yard covered bins provided by SacSewer at N51. There is an approximate total of 33,000 pounds (16,500 pounds per vessel) of spent carbon to be replaced. The spent granular carbon is DARCO H2S carbon. Refer to Appendix 1 for Drawings and Specifications and Appendix 2 for site map. The spent carbon in the two scrubbers at N51 has undergone an initial waste characterization of only a pH test, and it is considered hazardous due to low pH (<1.7). A third-party vendor will perform further waste characterization and will be responsible for disposal of spent carbon. See Appendix 3 for test results. Contractor shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations in the handling and storage of the hazardous material. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying their own forklift and pertinent equipment for this project. Contractor shall be responsible for removing and securing access hatches and installing new rubber gaskets as needed. Question Due Date: February 24, 2025
