Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Kelowna, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 20,714-square-foot, five-story above grade, 40-unit multi-residential development; and for site work for a multi-residential development.

The proposed project will be a 5 storey, 40 unit building with 20 units of supportive housing under BC Housing’s SHF program, and another 20 units of complex care housing under the Complex Care Housing Program. This project will be a unique mix of supportive housing for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness as well as complex care housing, which provides additional support to individuals with more complex or clinical needs, including those experiencing overlapping mental health and substance abuse disorders. Complex care includes person-centred services to better care for individuals with needs for services beyond those typically offered in supportive housing. The building will include amenity areas required for supportive housing, such as a shared kitchen, dining area, shared laundry, multipurpose gathering space, offices for 24hr staff, and counselling or medical treatment offices for complex care. The exact programming of the building will be determined through consultation with BC Housing Operations, MMHA and Interior Health subject matter experts. Due to the nature of the project, at least 10% of all units will be accessible, with potential for additional adaptable units. There is no underground parking or levels below grade, all parking will be on a surface lot. The subject site is currently vacant and is located on the north side of Pacific Avenue in central Kelowna. Shops and services, including a grocery store and pharmacy, are located one block north in Capri Centre. There are three bus stops within 150m of the site, which provide access to two different bus routes.
