Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Banff, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for site work for a municipal facility; and for the renovation of a municipal facility.
This project will facilitate the redevelopment of under-utilized national park facilities and lands to bring an enhanced Parks Canada presence and place into the Banff townsite. The project will deliver as its primary purpose, a Banff National Park visitor reception facility with modernized, accessible, and inclusive information services. Scope of work will include the renovation of the existing Federal Heritage Review Office (FHRO) recognized Information Building and extensive landscaping to support project objectives such as connection to other sites and maintaining iconic viewscapes. Lastly, the site is centered in the heart of the community and will include components to address community challenges, such as housing and access to multi-modal transportation options. TIMELINE: The owner has launched a Pre-qualification or a one-stage architectural conceptual Design Competition.. The design competition process is expected to conclude in Spring 2026. Further details and project schedules may be confirmed thereafter.
