Site work and paving for a road / highway in Siren, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 985, notice is hereby given that the Highway Commissioner of Burnett County, Wisconsin will receive separate sealed bids for the following work packages. o Hot Mix Asphalt Surfacing approximately 3 miles of CTH-T from CTH-A to CTH-C. Contractor will apply total of 4 inches thick of hot mix asphalt. No interpretation of the meaning of the bid documents will be made to any bidder verbally. Every request for such interpretation should be in writing and address to: Jeremy Burton, Burnett County Highway Commissioner, 8150 State Road 70, Siren WI 54872, or e-mail jeremy.burton@burnettcountywi.gov B. To be given consideration, a request for interpretation must be received at least three (3) days prior to the bid due date. Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda to the bid documents which, if issued, will be sent via e-mail or fax not later than one (1) days prior to the bid due date. Burnett County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in quoting or accepting quotations which best serves the interest of the County. The work shall consists of performing all work necessary for furnishing and installing Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) on CTH-T from CTH-A to CTH-C approximately 3 miles at 22ft wide B. The County be reconstructing the road segment and will grade, compact, and moisture condition the aggregate base course prior to commencement of Contractor's final prep and finish grading operations. C. The Contractor shall be responsible for inspecting the structural integrity and grade of the base construction and shall notify the County if there are any areas of concern. The County will then perform subgrade corrections as needed and the Contractor shall reinspect the subgrade for acceptance prior to paving. Payment for such inspections shall be considered incidental to the "Final Prep and Shaping" bid items. D. The Contractor shall be responsible for final preparation and shaping of the aggregate base course using Contractor's labor and equipment. This includes fine grading and rolling of the aggregate base to the satisfaction of the County Highway Commissioner. It also includes saw-cutting existing pavement on each end of the project and on any paved driveways and side roads to provide a clean and straight pavement joint. The Contractor shall be responsible for removal and disposal of existing pavements and grading and compacting of the aggregate base as necessary to prepare for paving. Payment for the work shall be on a lump sum basis included in the "Final Prep and Shaping" bid items. E. The Contractor shall be responsible for the production, testing, transport, and placement of HMA materials per the requirements of the bid documents. The compacted base course shall be an average of 2" thick with a minimum thickness of 2 inches and a maximum thickness of 2 1/4 ". The compacted surface course shall be an average of 2 inches thick with a minimum thickness of 2 thick and a maximum thickness of 2 1/4 thick. On that portion of any lift constructed to more than the permissible thickness, the materials used in excess of the allowable lift thickness may be excluded from the pay quantities. F. Contractor will AVOID leaving segregation after each truck load. This will be deemed by the Commissioner and if segregation occurs there will be a reduction of 25% of the overall costs. Contractor will also match the edges of the surface course with the base course. Anything over 5 inches deemed by the Commissioner will also be a reduction in the overall costs of 25%. Measurement for payment will be based on the tonnage of material placed less any thickness and/or quality adjustments. Each load of bituminous material delivered to the site and placed shall include a scale ticket or load manifest indicating the tonnage of material accompanying that load. G. The unit price base bid shall include all costs associated with producing and placing the material including but not limited to; mobilizing and demobilizing labor and equipment required to prepare the site for paving and to furnish and install the material; costs of quality control testing and reporting; costs to furnish and install the material to the specifications; traffic control; costs of permitting, licensing, and reporting as required; all overhead, profit and administrative costs; and any other incidental items required for the work as specified herein.
