**As of May 28, 2025, project was awarded to Team Elmer’s, awarded amount is $208,225.25. Grind the existing layer of road through Barnes Park, lay new asphalt (see map); and excluding the paving of the small section along south property line as noted on map (but including the grinding and removal of that section). See highlighted path on map for areas to be repaved. Approximately 4,932 ft. total. Material to be used for project: hot mix asphalt 5EL using PG 64 -28 asphalt binder at 2" thick (220 lbs/syd). The work the Contractor is required to perform shall be completed between Sept. 11, 2025 - Sept. 30, 2025. If weather prohibits completion, County will make adjustments if formal request is made by contractor MDOT prequalified contractors only. The Contractor must be licensed and is responsible for obtaining the permits necessary to complete the work. The bid must include cost of obtaining such permits and all labor necessary to complete the job Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond duly executed by a surety company approved by the owner and payable to the owner for 5% of the total amount of the bid. A certified check, drawn in the owner's name, may be used in lieu of a bid bond. Contractor responsible for the following: a. Removal and disposal of all grindings, trash. b. Installation of replacement asphalt- specifically hot mix asphalt to be used: 5EL using PG 64 -28 asphalt binder at 2" thick (220 lbs/syd). c. Securing all permits. d. Lay any additional paving sub base where needed. e. Repair or replace any damage to County property as a result of the construction To be considered responsive, bidders should include the following information in their bid proposal: o Proof of Insurance Certificate for commercial general liability to include contractual liability, products and completed operations, independent contractor's coverage and broad form general liability endorsement or equivalent. o Proof of Insurance Certificate for motor vehicle liability including Michigan no-fault coverage, with limits of liability of not less than $500,00.00 per occurrence, combined single limit bodily injury and property damage to include all owned vehicles and all hired vehicles used in performance of work. o Proof of Insurance Certificate for workers' compensation. If the above items are not provided in the bid proposal, they must be provided before the County will sign the contract. After contract has been negotiated and signed, the project may start as planned. A performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the bid will be required.
