Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Tacoma, Washington. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The East Portland Avenue project will carry out a grind & overlay of this principal arterial fromthe intersection at E 64th St to the Intersection at E 72nd St with channelization potentially extending beyond each intersection as needed. This is necessary maintenance and will extend the pavement life cycle and preserve the roadway, serving general, transit, and freight traffic for years to come. Sidewalks currently exist on both sides of Portland Ave to facilitate non-motorized use and this project will allow the City to improve accessibility and pedestrian crossings to meet the needs of all users and ADA compliance. Further coordination and outreach regarding the potential addition of bike facilities via channelization as a part of this project (for its extents) will take place to ensure all stakeholders are involved, but the City'sTransportation Master Plan currently calls for bike lanes to be installed along the entirety of the East Portland Avenue corridor Length :0.500 County: Pierce Agency: Tacoma Begin Termini :East 64th Street End Termini : East 72nd Street As of September 24 , 2025, the project is in Conceptual status.
