The project generally consists of the redecking of the timber pier, including new handrails. Approximate construction quantities include 400 SY of timber decking and 535 LF of timber railing & pull rails. Bid Guarantee is required in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount indicated in the Bid, but not in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). 10. CONSENT OF SURETY: A certificate is required from a surety company stating that it will provide bonds in the form and amounts as stated in the Contract Documents. 11. SUBMISSION OF BIDS: Bids shall be placed in sealed envelopes and must be received by Owner prior to the Date and Time indicated for Public Bid Opening and Reading in Paragraph #12. No Bids will be received after the indicated Date and Time. The Township reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The Township reserves the right to award this contract based on available funds. 16. BID WITHDRAWAL: The Bidder shall comply with the statutory requirements set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.3 regarding bid withdrawal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a surety company bond in the full amount of the contract price indemnifying the Township of Brick, New Jersey, for all proceed!ings, suits or actions of any kind of description and conditional for the faithful perform!ance of the work. 17. REJECTION OF BIDS: Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive any immaterial defect or informality in any Bid, if deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
