Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Balch Springs, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Reference Number 0000376487 Scope of Work. The work under this contract includes furnishing all labor, tools, material, and equipment, and for performing all work necessary for construction of: right-turn lane improvements on the west leg and south leg of the intersection of Elam Road at Shepherd Lane. The work generally includes construction of concrete pavement right-turn lanes, concrete curb and gutter, pavement markings and delineators, sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, and signal modifications. Work also includes traffic control, erosion control, and any other work deemed necessary by the City of Balch Springs. All of the above shall be done in accordance with NCTCOG specifications, with the City of Balch Springs's Addenda and as per instructions of the OWNER. All construction sequencing and barricading will be done according to the City of Balch Springs Standards and Details and TxDOT's Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), unless work occurs within TxDOT ROW, in which case TxDOT standards will apply. . All questions regarding the construction plans and BIDDING DOCUMENTS shall be submitted in writing and addressed to William Freeman, City of Balch Springs, 13503 Alexander Rd, Balch Springs, Texas 75181, WFreeman@balchspringstx.gov. The limits of the project are along Elam Road from Shepherd Lane to approximately 145' west of Shepherd Lane and along Shepherd Lane from Elam Road to approximately 215' south of Elam Road. The work generally includes construction of a right-turn lane along Elam Road and proposed concrete pavement on Shepherd Lane. Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank, or savings and loan in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the City of Balch Springs (herein the "OWNER"), or a bid bond in the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the BIDDER will enter into a contract and execute performance bond and payment bond within ten (10) business days after notice of award of contract to the Contractor. The notice of award of contract will be given by the OWNER within ninety (90) calendar days following the opening of bids. The successful BIDDER must furnish a performance bond upon the form provided in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price and a material and labor payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the OWNER. Reference the Project Specifications and Forms of Contract and Bonds for Additional requirements.
